»Photograph the world as it is. Nothing’s more interesting than reality.«
Mary Ellen Mark – photojournalist, documentary photographer, humanist. Female pioneer in storytelling. Muse, inspiration and great teacher for so to many colleague friends. Incredibly powerful in her attitude, most influential in contemporary photography. Full of respect, compassion and love though – for the people in front of her camera, their lives and stories. Remarkably sensitive in connecting with people, in seeing and perceiving beyound seeing. Clairevoyant and visionary of photography in countless aspects.
… again, the light dims. But your inspirations lives within your work. Thank you.
Mary Ellen Mark, 23.3.1940 – 25.5.2015.
